Goldie starts kindergarten…er…2nd grade

 

Poor Goldie! I was looking back through everyone's first-day-of-kindergarten pictures and I saw that I hadn't taken any of Marigold! She did indeed start kindergarten…two years ago…if you can believe it. So I told her we would take her kindergarten pictures now. And here she is! As cute as can be, and with the same elephant backpack.

It's no use, though. You can TELL she is a second-grader! She looks far too wise and old and smart to be a mere kindergartner. You can tell she already knows how to read…and do math…and spelling. So, I suppose I will have to add a few pictures of her when she was in actual kindergarten for verisimilitude.
That's better! Here she is two years ago—not on the first day of school, but at least during her first school unit, on Elephants (her favorite animal!). What a sweetie!

    Totally adorable! Time does indeed fly, faster and faster as the years go by. We began homeschooling in 1994. Our youngest graduated from high school in 2016. Our oldest is now in grad school and teaching Freshman English. (She served four years in the Air Force, which has paid for college!) Life is good, and the relationships we build during our homeschool years have made for wonderful relationships with our adult children. Keep up the good work! You are doing a terrific job.

      You're always so encouraging! I think a lot about you when I'm thinking about my kids growing into adults, actually, because I think it's so great how much you enjoy your adult children! Even the ones that have drifted from the gospel—you just seem to be able to love them and hope for them and ENJOY them just as they are right now! I love that and I hope so much I can do the same!
