Two Mowers

Here are Abey and Sebby mowing the lawn together. We'd had the green lawnmower for a long time, and then Grandma gave Sebby this red one for his birthday. This has allieviated a lot of arguing over who gets the "real lawnmower" and who has to make do with the less-desirable "cart" (another push toy).
Also, note that Sebby has started to produce a smile when having his picture taken. It's a bit fake-looking, but still cute. :)

Blue Ghost

Sebby has this blue blanket that he loves, and for some reason he always wants to walk around with it over his head. He looks like a little blue ghost (which we have told him, with the result that he now refers to his blanket as "boo go!"), especially when it's the middle of the night, and we hear a noise and look in his room to see him climbing out of his crib with the blanket draped over him so only his feet and legs stick out.

I guess he likes the feel of the soft blanket on his skin--but the trouble is, even though he can't see where he's going, he just goes everywhere anyway. I'm always hearing "bang!" and then silence, and then a little voice saying "Sebby hurt, mommy!" Then I'll walk into the other room and find Sebby lying on top of his blanket next to a wall. Poor blue ghost! :(

Sebby turns 2!

Here is our big two-year-old with his two birthday presents: two "wa-wa ka-ka", i.e. "water sprinklers." One is to play with and run through outside, and the other is just for holding and carrying around. Seb is very pleased with them. :)

"Squirrel friend! Cute!"

We have two little squirrels that live nearby and come up on our deck to see us occasionally. Sometimes we leave peanuts out for them. Sebby walks around saying "Squirrel friend! Cute!" and pointing out the windows hopefully. The boys especially like it when they come up close the window. They think it is so cute how the squirrels stand up on their hind legs and hold the nuts in their little paws to nibble on them.

Haircutes

This is from a couple months ago, right after the boys got haircuts. Sebby's makes him look older, I think.

Seb and Boots

Sebby found Abe's old boots and he wants to wear them all the time. (Excuse the underpants; in that picture he just got toilet trained and when we're around the house, it's easier for him to pull down the underpants by himself if he doesn't have pants over them. I'm so happy to have him going to the bathroom by himself now! What a nice milestone that is.)

Happened upon this little scene the other day when I was going to investigate why the boys were being so quiet. They are starting to like playing together more, and I love to watch them. Sebby adores Abe; the first thing he does every morning is go into Abe's room and say "Hi, Abey! How-oo?"

(Update: the boys like to look at their own pictures on the blog, and when Sebby saw this one, he yelled out, "Abey! Sebby! Read cocoon!" The cocoon is his favorite part of that hungry caterpillar book and he wants to go to that page over and over.) :)
