Just a few little things that have been happening…
Making churros for Family Home Evening. They were tasty, if a little…wiggly. It's hard to squeeze the batter out evenly!
Sweater-dress twins
Daisy flying her kite, with siblings looking on
Goldie's hair looked so pretty as I was brushing it before putting curlers in!
Junie got braces! Here's the "before picture"…
And now she and Junie are twins again! If Daisy takes her glasses off, that is.
We have a new library by our house! We've been so excited for it to open. The girls can ride their bikes there. We all went by one evening (after some of us were in pajamas already…) to check it out.We had the place mostly to ourselves, so that was fun.
Swimming…the little boys are in lessons right now and I wanted them to have some practice, so I bravely took alll the kids one day when Sam was gone. Each girl took charge of one boy, and I held sweet little Clementine. Seb had to leave early, and Malachi floated around tickling people. It was great fun until Clementine and Ziggy started getting shivery-cold, as babies always do when swimming. Gus is the exception that proves the rule!
We did MAJOR spring cleaning this year the week before Easter. I had a very thorough list, and we worked through it all week long. We worked in teams and it was really quite fun—the children got into the spirit of the thing once they saw how sparkling-clean everything was looking. And they liked climbing ladders and standing on counters and pulling things out of cupboards and other things not in the usual routine. In this picture, you can see how beautifully clear the light fixture is that Daisy is working on!A sweet little sleepy Lemon
I’m intrigued by the churros. And Goldie’s luxuriously silky hair. And with swimming lessons when it isn’t summer time! (A perk of homeschool I suppose. It takes me forever to get my kids swimming proficiently enough to not fear everyone drowning all of the time! They take a lesson or two in the summer. Forget it by the next summer. And start again. 😒) And I’m also intrigued with spring cleaning! Impressive!
ReplyDeleteYeah. I guess non-summer swimming lessons ARE a good benefit of homeschool! Except I don't know if they're learning anything. Their progress seems…very slow. So they'll probably forget everything by next year too.
DeleteAs for Spring Cleaning…yes. Our house was clean. For about 2 hours.😄
