Teddy is 11…and miscellaneous other things

This is just a picture of Teddy looking mildly aware that I'm taking his picture. But there's something so Teddyish about it! I'm not even sure what. His tousled hair? His perceptive gaze? He looks old, too—as old as Abe looked when I started thinking, "Whoa, this boy is actually going to become a man at some point!" He is tall and strong for his age, and honestly seems like he ought to have been in Young Men's this year—but I'm glad we get him in primary for another year.
Everyone once in a while I ask Teddy if he wishes he was called "Theo" instead (we always wanted it as a possibility when we named him!) but he says, "I just feel like a Teddy!" He looks like a Teddy too. And I love him.
Gus cooking tortillas for Teddy's birthday dinner (breakfast burritos)
Eleven candles!
I came upon Clementine wearing a pair of tights on her head. When I questioned this clothing choice, she said, "I'm trying to be a bunny!" Ah. In that case, how can I refuse? I helped her pin a sock on for a tail.
Cute bunnies!
We watched the movie "Rio" for Family Home Evening one night because it has Caws in it! Gus was so, so happy. I got this sideways picture of his pleased face.
Clementine and Gus dressed up as macaws on another day. Red feathers, yellow and blue wings.
Flying Caw
Caw with tail
Shoulder rides
Shorky and Bendigo (Clementine's drawings for Sam)
Another drawing by Clementine, of herself playing several different instruments
Daisy decided to try her hand at cutting Clementine's hair. (Junie helped.) Her little bob cut turned out so cute!
Watching the demolition of the BYU Creamery. I remember this as Carson's Market when I was little. Then Kent's. Then the Creamery for many years. It's a little sad to see it being so unceremoniously chomped at with the backhoe, even though they built a bigger new one right next door!
A sudden sleet storm while we were at the playground, and Teddy with a sleet-ball!
Foreboding clouds on the drive home from Provo
Plaid pajama-people. (All of these were once worn by other siblings…Clementine's go all the way back to Abey at her age! Except Gus's. Those long bean-pajamas were bought new just for him!)
Singing some of the new hymns with my brother Philip's family. Adam and Daniel are getting so good at the piano! They can even sightread hymns! It's fun to be on the singing end for once.
Puffy Clementine wearing about 5 layers of clothes (just for fun?)
A better look at the new haircut
Flowers from Sam and Gus ("For the little sisters in heaven," said Gus when he gave them to me)
Lunch date with the lovely Junie. I got tickets to go the ballet "Peter Pan" with her, and Daisy had the bright idea of telling her we were going to the opera instead. (Junie is…ahem…not very fond of opera.) We all went along with it. I told her she'd probably like it better live, and everyone in the family took great delight in telling her how long it would be, and how it would be in a foreign language ("But I'm sure there will be supertitles," I reassured her), and how opera singers don't even need microphones because their voices are so loud. Junie protested, but in a good-sportish way, and I was half-worried after all the anticipation that she'd be disappointed we were only going to the ballet, after all! She wasn't, though. She loved it. (The dancers even got to fly! And it was so cool!)
Ramen, yum
Clementine with her little friend Luna (or "Woona"). Luna is from Germany and only speaks German, but neither of them mind that (maybe Clementine remembers when she went to church in French?). Luna comes and plays at our house while we have choir practice. On this particular Sunday she was wearing a cute yellow dress and Clementine promptly ran upstairs to change clothes so she could match her!

Matching lace dresses
And some pretty sunrises! Seb sent me some pictures of his beautiful sunrise in Denver (theirs comes about a half hour before ours) so I went outside and ours was just as beautiful! Lucky!
