Random Thoughts

I can think of few things worse than having to exercise while someone yells, "YEAH LADIES!  WORK IT!  WOOOO!" at me.

It may be a cliche, but old people really do just want to talk about their health problems all the time.  (As an honorary old person, I'm not meaning to criticize.  Maybe I'll understand someday.)

I'm glad I don't have to teach my children another language so they can read the scriptures.

Sometimes having access to too much information on a subject is just as discouraging as having not enough.

We finally saw How to Train Your Dragon, and I liked it, but I couldn't help thinking it was strange to make a movie where the moral was, "If you'll just take the time and effort to get to know the big scary monsters you'll find they're actually not that bad!  Except for the biggER scariER monster of course; he's exactly what he seems so just go ahead and kill him right off."

  2. 1. Me either.
    2. Ex-cuuuse me? Or does this mean you don't count me in that group? Or = wait, do I do that?
    3. Me too.
    4. This is true. There are many things that, if I hadn't ever even become aware of them, I wouldn't miss, or better, my ambitions would not have had the chance to embrace them too.
    5. I feel that way about spiders, actually. And some dogs. Anyway, you could tell the big dragon was mean - I mean, they all had to feed them or it would eat them. That's extortion. But there weren't any prisons big enough for that thing - better that one monster die, etc. etc.

  3. I love that last thought, it cracks me up. So true about the moral of that story. I mean, how much more confusing can it get?
And the poor little kids watching--they just get used to the scary medium sized dragons and then have to deal mentally with the biggest scariest dragon of all. Yikes.

  4. K: Ha. No, I actually do not count you in that group. Not to mention that you DON'T talk about your health problems all the time. :)

  5. That's great. I didn't even think of that for how to train your dragon. We read the book then watched the movie. I'm not sure why they say it is made after the book. Not even close to the same.
