Junie and Goldie both have Spring birthdays and I think they're so lucky. What a good time of year to be born! Junie chose pomegranate cheesecake for her birthday dessert. Yum. And I think this picture of Sebastian holding Gus and "helping" him blow out the candles for Junie is the most adorable thing ever.
We went to the butterfly garden at Thanksgiving Point for Junie's birthday activity. It was HOT and humid in there, which is no fun in masks, but at least the butterflies were pretty!
The Yellow Romper Club. Plus an imposter.
And here's Goldie's birthday! Her cake was Key Lime Pie, in a cake pan. There is SO much sympathetic blowing in this picture!
Cute cards made by siblings.
When our dear friend Cathy saw the beautiful redwood planter bed Sebastian made for me, she asked if he'd make one for her too. So we spent the nicest day out at her house in Erda while Seb worked (with some help from Teddy), and I got to talk with Cathy to my heart's content! It was so great.
We always love seeing the animals at Cathy's house, and we were especially lucky this time because she had a baby lamb staying in her house! The lamb's name was Daisy and she was in a diaper, which was adorable. And Teddy got to feed her with a bottle!
AND Cathy has the cutest playhouse in the world. Teddy had the best time playing in there with Cathy's granddaughters.
And here's the planter taking shape. With rocks and chicken wire in the bottom so the…what were they? Gophers? Moles?…couldn't get in.
It looked so great when it was all done!
And here it is all planted with strawberries. So nice.
This is SUCH a familiar sight. A little boy watching the washing machine with Great Interest.
We made it to a few of Seb's track meets this year. It's always so fun to watch him run, and of course to run up and down the steps of the bleachers making a terrific racket…
I had these cute fuzzy bunnies out for Easter decorations. Only, they were never left like this. Instead, somebody was always putting them like this:
Or this. I could never quite catch anyone in the act. But it was someone (or more than one someone) TALL!
Two girls trying their best to confuse the viewer. Which is which??
I gave Gus a little haircut…well, a tiny trim. We put him in his high chair to contain him, and it was a good thing we did because he was NOT HAPPY with the situation. Not happy at all. He squirmed and shrieked and writhed around while the girls did their level best to hold his head still for me. I really don't like cutting hair with scissors.
And that made two of us.
But eventually he cheered up and looked very cute.
We planted so many bulbs last Fall, and all winter I dreamed about how pretty they would be in the Spring. It was so fun to watch them all come up! There were a few different phases: big daffodils, tiny daffodils, big daffodils again, then tulips. I wish I could have gotten a picture that showed them all together better. But here are a few glimpses anyway!
My favorite line in this whole post is the one about watching the washer with "Great Interest." The capitals are perfection in the style of A.A. Milne. :)
