Gifted, part II

"This Christmas, I was gifted a lovely sweater."
"I gifted these chocolates to my neighbors."
"Keep it for yourself, or gift it to a friend."
"Perfect for last-minute gifting."

Why? Why?? Why????

Resist the urge to use new, trendy and unnecessary verbs. Resist, I say!!

Christmas is a time of giving. Or even gift-giving, if you prefer.

Not "gifting."

But what do you think of the verb re-gift? I think re-gifting can't be said any other way.
